About Megan Winsor
|
Megan Winsor is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter and producer originally from Southern California, known for blending timeless storytelling with a modern, genre-blurring edge. With three albums released and a fourth on the horizon, she has brought her music to iconic stages including The Troubadour, Hotel Café, The Moroccan Lounge, Abbey Road Studios, and the Marcus King Family Reunion Festival.
Megan’s journey began at just 13 years old, performing for hours in bars and restaurants for tourists with one goal: to be heard. What started as a determination to share her voice quickly evolved into a deep love for the stage. From Los Angeles to London, she has built her audience the old-fashioned way—one live show at a time—playing over 100 shows in the past year alone. Her 2024 album INTERMISSION captures the uncertainty and self-discovery of life after college, exploring themes of nostalgia, growth, and the emotional highs and lows of young adulthood. Songs like “Cruel” and “90s Van” turn personal moments into relatable anthems, while tracks like “You Ruined My Favorite Bar” highlight her witty, conversational songwriting style. Megan is currently preparing her next project, The Phoenix and the Red Dawn, set for late 2026—a deeply personal record about hitting rock bottom and finding the strength to rise again. With more than one million streams across platforms, a social media reach of over 100K, and a rapidly growing Spotify audience, Megan’s music continues to connect with listeners around the world. Beyond her own artistry, Megan has become a sought-after songwriter in both Los Angeles and Nashville, writing across pop, folk, EDM, and country. She was selected for the prestigious LAAMP program (2024–2025), founded by Stargate, where she developed her craft under the mentorship of Grammy-winning producers and A&R executive Chris Anokute (Katy Perry, Rihanna). She is also a signed sync artist with Silo Music Group, expanding her work into film and television. A graduate of the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, Megan continues to grow as both a performer and songwriter. She was named Artist of the Month by Live Nation’s Music Forward Foundation (August 2024), received sponsorship from Gibson Guitars for her 2024 acoustic tour, and has been recognized as a semi-finalist in major songwriting competitions including Unsigned Only and the International Songwriting Competition. Passionate about supporting fellow independent artists, Megan has also shared industry insights as a guest speaker at Grammy Camp and authored the handbook No Label, No Team, No Problem, a guide to navigating today’s independent music landscape. Often described as “today’s Joni Mitchell,” Megan Winsor continues to carve her own path—creating deeply personal music that resonates with a new generation of listeners. |
"Winsor’s music is rich and filled with bright harmonies and buoyant melodies—she's previously been likened to Maggie Rogers and Hayley Williams, and for good reason."
