Bio.
If Maggie Rogers and Hayley Williams had a lovechild, you'd get Megan Winsor—an artist and songwriter straight off the SoCal sand that everyone needs to know. With influences from the likes of Lorde, Ben Howard, Taylor Swift, Fletcher, and The Lumineers, Megan's catchy melodies, thought-provoking lyrics, and unique pop/rock sound have gained her a familiarity that you simply can't ignore.
Megan's journey began at the age of 13, singing for hours in bars and restaurants for tourists. All she wanted was to get her songwriting heard, and the only way to do that was to sing them herself. Live music now runs in her veins. From Los Angeles to London, she has been building her audience slowly but surely through live shows at legendary venues such as Hotel Cafe, the Viper Room, Abbey Road Studios, and Adults Only. Her independent release in 2022, "11," marked a new era for Megan as she created the perfect mixture of pop, rock, and folk. Featuring songs that "combine humor with confidence as she lets go of the toxic mentality," the album has certainly made its mark. On June 21st, 2024 , Megan released her new album, "INTERMISSION," a deeply personal collection of songs that reflect a pivotal period in her life. The album captures the feeling of being caught in a transitional phase, where the future is uncertain and every decision feels like a pause in the grand play of life. The themes explore the balance between youthful exuberance and the quest for self-discovery. From the poignant "Cruel," which speaks to the confusion of youth, to the celebratory "90s Van," which honors the freedom of youth, each track delves into Megan's recent experiences, struggles, and moments of joy. Songs like "You Ruined My Favorite Bar" add a touch of humor, showcasing her knack for turning personal anecdotes into engaging music. After graduating from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, Megan has continued to be a vibrant performer and songwriter in the LA area. With a new album that resonates with anyone navigating their own personal intermissions, Megan's artistry continues to evolve and connect on a deeper level. In addition to her musical endeavors, Megan is dedicated to empowering young musicians. As a featured guest speaker at Grammy Camp, she has shared her insights and experiences through her handbook for independent artists, "No Label, No Team, No Problem," available on Amazon. Stick around—Megan Winsor is an artist on the rise, and you won't want to miss what’s next. |
